Abstract
Hysterosalpingography, a radilolgic visualization of the uterus and tubes, has been universally accepted in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. A clinical analysis has been made on cases of known infertile women by the view of hysterosalpingography. The results were as follows; 1. In 176 cases of infertility, 80 cases were primary infertility and remaining 96 cases were secondary infertility. 2. We investigate the infertile women whose age is between 21 and 39 years old. Primary infertility and secondary infertility is the most frequent in the age group between 25 and 29 year old. 3. The most common duration of primary infertility(40%) is 3¡4years and secondary infertility (34.4%) is 2¡3 years. 4. In the past history, patients suffered from secondary infertility have induced abortion(44%) and exploratory laparatomy(12%). 5. The uterine shadow was normal in 68.2% of 176 cases, but 6.3% and 1.7% revealed hypoplastic shadow and irregular uterine cavity shadow, respectively. 6. In tubal shadow, 42% showed normal and in abnormal shadow, hydrosalpinx was the most frequent(21.1%). 7. Tubal occlusion was appeared in 57.9%, and among them bilateral occlusion was 35.2% and unilateral occlusion was 22.7%. The most frequent occlusion site was ampulla portion (36.4%) and the second and third most frequent occlusion site was cornual (23.9%) and isthmic portion (14.8%). 8. Normal hysterosalpingogram was noted 65 cases and 97 cases was abnormal in one or more among uterine, tubal, and intra-abdominal in shadow. 9. The radio-opaque material spilled over into intraabdominal cavity in 64.8% and the shadow was hazy homogenous. 10. Intravasation of radiopaque material was found in 7.3%.
